Altiyan Child's 'X Factor' win draws 1.6 million viewers in Australia
Altiyan Childs from New South Wales won last night's The X Factor grand final, which drew 1.6 million audience.
For his win at the Australian X Factor, Childs expressed his appreciation for his father. "All I can say is thank you Dad. You were the one who knew that I could do this."
X Factor judge Ronan Keating said that the The X Factor winner is a real star. The former Boyzone member had been Altiyan Childs' mentor on the show.
"If we go back to the auditions, forgetting the words on the elimination night in the first week, there were boos in the audience. The way he has grown, the journey he has had, his delivery, his belief, his confidence, his ability... he just ticks all the boxes. He's a real star," Keating said.
Childs won a contract with Sony and is set to release his debut song, Somewhere in the World.
According to Showbiz Spy, more than 1.6 million viewers tuned in to see Altiyan Childs's win at The X Factor in Australia. Although, the the finale average 1.363 million viewers, the audience built throughout the two-hour broadcast towards an average of 1.632 million viewers. It was the number one show last night in terms of preferred advertising demographics.
