Embattled star Amanda Bynes has accused her arresting officer on Thursday of sexual harassment.

The 27 year old actress, who made the serious allegations on the micro blogging site Twitter, had a run in with the police on May 23 after the building staff of her New York apartment reportedly called the authorities to complain on the heavy smoke coming out of the actress' unit on the 36th floor.

When the police arrived at her apartment, Amanda allegedly grabbed a bong that was sitting on her kitchen counter and threw it out the window "where numerous pedestrians were walking on the 8 Avenue and West 47 Street sidewalks below." According to an officer's incident report, it took a while before Amanda could meet them at the door as the actress was on the phone lodging a complaint even when the officers had already entered her apartment.

Amanda was charged with illegal possession of marijuana as well as reckless imprudence and "attempted tampering with evidence" for the alleged bong-tossing.

"Don't believe the reports about me being arrested. It's all lies," the actress posted on Saturday. She claimed the arrest was just an overdone conspiracy concocted by the police.

"I was sexually harassed by one of the cops that night before last which is who then arrested me. He lied and said I threw a bong out of the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious.

"He slapped my vagina. Sexual harassment. Big deal," she said. The actress begged her followers not to believe the reports, saying it was actually her who called the authorities and not the staff of the building apartment.

Amanda claimed that the arrest was made by the male officer to whitewash his actions. "I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated," she said.

According to the report of MailOnline, a spokesman for the New York Police Department had confirmed that they already received the actress' formal complaint on one of their male officers.

"The matter is under investigation by the Internal Affairs Bureau," the spokesman said.

But while the NYPD is not taking the accusation lightly, some sources are quick to disprove Amanda's claims, according to MailOnline.

The possibility of sexual harassment was questionable according to one source since Amanda was never left alone with the male officer and the building manager was always with the authorities inside the actress' apartment.

Amanda went on to complain about the manner of the arrest saying it denied her of her legal rights. She said she was also offended by the decision to send her for psychiatric assessment before she was charged in court.

"I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive," she said. "I kept asking for my lawyer but they wouldn't let me."

The actress claimed that her release on Friday was sufficient proof of her innocence and that there were no grounds for the charges filed against her.

"They found no pot on me or bong outside my window. That's why the judge let me go.

"Don't believe any reports," she concluded.

After her psychiatric assessment at a hospital, Amanda spent a night in jail and was released without bond on Friday. She is set to reappear in court in July.

Meanwhile, mugshots taken by the police of the former Nickolodeon star revealed that she had chopped all her hair off. The golden blonde locks she has kept throughout her career have been replaced by an ultra short hairstyle that's just about an inch short.

When she was initially arrested by the police, she was seen wearing a sloppy platinum blonde wig. On Friday during her court appearance, Amanda wore the blonde wig again during proceedings.

According to reports, Amanda's troubled behaviour began when she moved to New York from California after facing DUI charges and other offenses related to driving.

The "She's The Man" star has tried reinventing her appearance from face piercings, to her cropped hairstyle and wig swinging antics ala Nicki Minaj.
