Amanda Bynes' Appeal To Regain Full Control Denied
The court has denied Amanda Bynes' attempt to regain control of her life and financial decisions. The actress had appealed before a judge, but her request had been vehemently denied.
The actress was in an involuntarily psychiatric hold since Oct. 20 and was released a couple of days back. Her conservatorship is with her mother Lynn Bynes since Oct. 22. Yesterday, the actress sent lawyer Art Santiago to appear in court and plea in her behalf to end the conservatorship given to her mother, as told by the People.
The judge ruled out the plea saying that as per law, only a court appointed attorney could represent the actress. Since Santiago was not appointed by the court, he could not represent her. Hence, his plea on the actress' behalf is not relevant.
As per the People, Santiago tried his best to convince the judge saying that he is constantly in touch with the star and they have been working towards her betterment by coaxing her to take medicines regularly. The court proceedings were witnessed by her mother and father.
As per The Hype, the actress had been exhibiting some positive signs of improvement and even got herself enrolled in a fashion design course. However, once the conservatorship ended, Bynes again started showing the traits of her erratic behaviour as she was caught DUI and also charged of shoplifting.
Bynes was confined to psychiatric hold five months in July 2013, after which her conservatorship was given to her mother. This conservatorship gives full control of her lifer including personal and financial decisions.
The 28-year-old actress has contested her release from the treatment facility just three days after a judge passed the ruling that she needs one more month's stay. However, the hearing officer at the facility found her stable enough to be freed from the centre.
After her release, the star was spotted roaming around Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. Her anger towards her parent has not died down as she expressed her anguish through her tweets.
Bynes is also upset with the fact that she was tricked into visiting the treatment facility by her parents. She wanted to prove to the judge that she does not need any help to live her life or in making decisions about her future. Her twitter rants gave a peak of what is going in her mind:
People need to hear the truth about who I really am - I need to show the judge that not only do I not need ANY help making decisions about
