Things keep getting ugly for Amanda Bynes. The temperamental former child comedienne got into war of words with a former friend and just suddenly called her own father ugly while taking a shot at drag queen RuPaul.

It isn't new for the 27-year-old "retired" actress to call people ugly, especially those who disagree with her. She has called quite a number of people in the industry ugly, while praising her own appearance. She has been using (misusing?) the word so much that it's already comical.

One would wonder if she's really either mentally troubled or just acting out. Perhaps this is all part of a big show that she would unveil in the end, telling everyone that it's just a psychological experiment or something and that she didn't really mean any of the things she said.

Nevertheless, it's hard to take her seriously when she calls everyone ugly. It's even almost laughable now.

However, there's nothing funny about calling her Tweet last Sunday. In a seemingly unprovoked attack, Amanda insulted her own father.

"My dad is as ugly as RuPaul! So thankful I look nothing like you both! I had nose surgery after my mug shots so my nose and I are gorgeous!" she posted.

Her father, Rick, hasn't responded to the insult, although it was reported last week that he and her mother, Lynn, have been asking for legal advice on how to reach out to their estranged daughter.

But while Rick seems content to keep silent, RuPaul has something to say to Amanda.

"Derogatory slurs are ALWAYS an outward projection of a person's own poisonous self-loathing @AmandaBynes," the 52-year-old drag queen and reality show host posted.

And as if he couldn't help it, he added, "I'm a man, duh!"

A few days prior, she also attacked ex-boyfriend Lance Bass after the 'NSYNC singer spoke about her odd behaviour in a radio interview.

Lance told a Las Vegas radio programme that he is "really scared for her" after observing that she has "some mental problems."

"I ignored Lance Bass on twitter and now he is saying I have a mental illness. Sorry you're an ugly ex boy band member w/ no talent or career," Amanda countered. "To say I have a mental illness out of nowhere makes me lash out! You're making me crazy!"

The two met on the critically panned "Love Wrecked," in which she starred and he produced. That was in 2005.

"Now I really don't think this is Amanda - we shot LoveWrecked together 7 years ago and she was just at my bday party 3 years ago. Hmmm 11?" the singer, who came out as gay in 2006, said.

As for calling him ugly, talentless, and career-less, Lance responded, "Ouch- The Amanda I know would never had said something like this to me- either this is a fake person or she really does have a mental illness. Way too sad. I reached out- all i can do"
