Amanda Seyfried is replacing Mila Kunis as the female lead in the upcoming “Ted 2.” The 2012 blockbuster comedy flick, co-produced and co-written by “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane, will be back for a sequel, but Kunis’ role has been reduced.

Kunis played a huge part in the first movie, alongside Mark Wahlberg and MacFarlane, who voiced the titular talking teddy bear character. However, it appears that her participation in the upcoming film has been significantly reduced in favour of Seyfried.

According to Deadline, details for “Ted 2” are not yet finalised, but MacFarlane has already decided that Kunis will only appear in a tiny role in the film.

It’s nothing personal, though, and is purely a creative decision.

MacFarlane and Kunis reportedly remain close, with the 30-year-old actress still going to continue to provide the voice of Meg in the “Family Guy.”

Wahlberg will be back as Ted’s human best friend in the sequel, while Seyfried will play the female lead.

Seyfried is also set to appear in MacFarlane’s upcoming film “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” which will also star Charlize Theron, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, Neil Patrick Harris, and Liam Neeson. The film will be released in May.

“Ted 2” is scheduled for release on June 26, 2015 in the U.S.
