Amar'e Stoudemire and Lance Bass have a gig together
What do Amar'e Stoudemire and Lance Bass have in Common? Judging Miss America!
New York Knicks forward, Amar'e Stoudemire, as well as former 'N Sync singer Lance Bass would join the roster of judges for Miss America Pageant 2013 in Atlantic City.
The list of judges for Miss America Pageant was released by the pageant officials on Tuesday. Included in the list are Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell; comedian and performer Mario Cantone; and Barbara Corcoran, an investor from ABC's entrepreneurial competition show Shark Tank. The list also included Carla Hall, co-host of ABC's food-and-talk show The Chew, and Deidre Downs Gunn, an obstetrician and gynecologist who was the last Miss America to be crowned in Atlantic City. Two names that stood out were Amar'e Stoudemire and Lance Bass. Many are wondering what they are doing here, judging girls who are as far as being sporty as you get or aspiring singers.
For Stoudemire, some would say this is not that surprising. In fact, it may just be the latest chapter amid a quite chaotic summer. According to the New York Daily News, the NBA star applied for Israeli citizenship in August, purchased a large share of a basketball team in Jerusalem and even got married. If you think about it, Amare does everything but play basketball. So what's next?
Maybe it was their sense of style. Stoudemire does have a sense of style ... a really good publicist too if you think about it. Wondering what made them qualified to be pageant judges? You'll have to wrack your heads for that. But it's not as if we all have an idea of what makes anyone qualify to be a pageant judge. At least Stoudemire and Bass have something in common now. Miss America Pageant this year would be quite interesting, too. So there.
