Read on for "The Amazing Race" Season 26 recap of episodes 1 and 2 to find out what else happened to these couples.

Leg 1 (United States → Japan)

In Leg 1 of "The Amazing Race" Season 26, the 11 competing teams all met at Castaic Lake in California to start the ultimate race around the world. Six of the couples already know each other and have been dating for quite some time. Meanwhile, ten singles were paired with each other as blind dates.

The teams had to get plane tickets to Tokyo, Japan by going through an obstacle course that involved mud, ice-cold water and running. After getting their tickets, they all had to drive a Ford Fusion Hybrid car and head on over to the Los Angeles International Airport to catch their flights.

Leg 1 Detour: "Syncing Steps or Samurai Sake?"

a. Syncing Steps (Shinjuku Central Park): The “TAR” 26 teams had to perform a series of synchronized dance that involve making "robotic" moves along with members of the group World Order. If they correctly perform the said dance, they will get the next clue from World Order leader Genki Sudo.

b. Samurai Sake (Nakano Sakaue Station Tavern): The “TAR” 26 teams had to memorise the names and images of ten bottles of sake. Then, they will take one order of sake from a table of “Samurais.” If they bring the correct bottle, they will be given the next clue.

After the Detour, the couples had to proceed to the Wakaba Higashi Park. They saw the Blind U-Turn board there and their next clue. Unfortunately, Jeff and Lyda were chosen by Mike and Rochelle for the Blind U-Turn. They needed to go to the Akihabara district and look for the UDX building. Jeff and Lyda looked for a parking space that contained the Pit Stop. But they were too late already. “TAR” 26 host Phil Keoghan told Jeff Magee and Lyda Grawn that they have been eliminated from the race.
