"Amazing Spider-Man 2" is all set to hit the theaters on May 2. However, before the release of the film a spoiler has surfaced claiming that one of the main characters of the film will die in the final segment. Alert! Spoiler ahead.

Apparently, the character, which will die in the film, is none other than Gwen Stacey, according to Hollywoodlife.

Emma Stone plays Stacey and it may so happen that in the end of the film when Spidey (Andrew Garfield) is fighting Harry (Dane DeHaan), aka the Green Goblin, atop a clock tower, Gwen who is standing on the structured beams looses her footing and falls. Spiderman tries to save Gwen by pulling out his web but the twisting gear of the clock tower cuts his web and Gwen starts falling again. Spidey tries to save Gwen once again by pulling out another web. Unfortunately, Gwen falls to the ground. Next scene will have Spidey holding Gwen's body in his hands and breaking down to tears where he is caught saying: "Don't leave me, don't leave me!"

In the next scene, the viewers will see Peter Parker and Aunt May in what seems like Gwen's funeral.

If the spoiler is true then it is really sad that Emma Stone's character will be killed off in the film. And if this does happen, then can fans expect the entry of Mary Jane in "Amazing Spider-Man 3?"

Much recently, Shailene Woodley revealed in her interview that she was disappointed to know that her scenes were cut from "Amazing Spider-Man 2". Woodley was roped in to play Spiderman's staple love interest Mary Jane in the film. However, here scenes were cut as makers of the film wanted to focus on Spiderman and Gwen Stacey's love story.

"Of course I'm bummed," Woodley told Entertainment Weekly, according to DailyMail.co.uk. "But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason. Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film."
