The throng of summer blockbuster movies have just begun, and people are really anticipating the big summer movies about to hit the screens. One of those movies is a classic comic book character, Spider-Man.

"The amazing Spider-Man" tells the story of Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield, a high school outcast who was abandoned by his parents, raised by Uncle Ben and Aunt May. He then discovers a briefcase that belonged to his dad. Files he saw inside directed him to Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner, who works for Oscorp. Aside from different teenage problems, as Spider-Man he battles it out with Connors' alter ego, the Lizard.

"A well-chosen cast and sure-handed direction allows The Amazing Spider-Man to thrill despite revisiting many of the same plot points from 2002's Spider-Man." said Rotten Tomatoes along with a rating of 86 per cent from top critics.

Andrew Garfield is cast as the awkward teen. Fans have anticipated the return of Garfield on the big screen following his breakout role as Eduardo Saverin in "The Social Network" back in 2010. Although born in LA, Garfield was raised in England, but that does not stop him from getting roles that does not require his extremely sexy British accent.

Opposite Peter Parker is Gwen Stacy, played by a very sultry Emma Stone. Emma Stone is best known for her roles in the high school comedy "Easy A" and as the love interest in "Crazy, Stupid, Love", where she played the leading lady of Ryan Gosling.

"The Amazing Spider-Man" is a reboot of the original Spider-Man back in 2002. It originally casted Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, and WIlled Dafoe as the Norman Osborn, or as the Green Goblin. Sam Raimi originally directed the 2002 blockbuster, along with the second and third movies.

Many Spider-Man and MARVEL fans are hopeful about this reboot especially after the disaster that they call "Spider-Man 3", as well as using Gwen Stacy as the love interest and not MJ. Hopefully, this movie will leave a positive mark on the fans.
