The episode 9 of "American Horror Story-Coven" is "Head." In the previous episode, "The Sacred Taking," Fiona received a package, containing the head of Madam LaLaurie. This head and the brains of the other characters would provide the drama in the upcoming episode.

Ryan Murphy, co-creator of "American Horror Story," said to Entertainment Weekly: "I think what happens in the winter cliffhanger "Head" is beyond hilarious."

The episode, "Head," according to Murphy, will follow "the travails of LaLaurie's head and things happen to other characters' literal heads or intellects or brain power."

Talking about how Fiona will deal with LaLaurie's head, Murphy said to Entertainment Weekly, "Well the funny thing is Fiona certainly doesn't want her head in the house. It's just sort of like one of those bad Christmas sweaters that keep getting passed from person to person."

The upcoming episode will also reveal the one who attacked Cordelia. Also, Fiona will seek out Marie to form an alliance. In "Head," Joan is alive, while her son is in coma. Murphy said Joan "finally has to deal with the fact that the ladies next door are witches whom she hates but who can help her, particularly Nan who is a clairvoyant."

There is a story-line revolving Queenie in "Head," which turns everything around for her, according to Murphy.

Murphy said that the relationship between Delia and Fiona would never be like a normal mother-daughter relationship. In the four episodes, scheduled to air in January, Cordelia will discover more dark secrets about her mother.

Fiona and Cordelia will "never be on good terms," Murphy said. "Cordelia in the last four episodes in January finds out something even darker about her mother that turns things upside down."

"Cordelia's attacker is revealed. Fiona looks to form an alliance with Marie Laveau. Nan learns a disturbing truth about Luke's past," according to official synopsis of episode 9, "Head," "American Horror Story-Coven."

"There are a lot of deaths in "Head." I had to make the fateful calls. It really sort of turns the season on its ear and sort of sets up the last four episodes in a very clear, interesting way," Murphy said.

"Head" is written by Tim Minear and is directed by Howard Deutch.
