"American Horror Story" will again scare the viewing public after being renewed for Season 4. FX has announced a brand new season with 13 episodes to air in 2014.

The current season, "American Horror Story: Coven" has been the biggest hit for the FX show. "Coven" has outperformed the previous two seasons of "American Horror Story" with more 7.7 million viewers.

"Coven" is based on witchcraft and actor Sarah Paulson recently told Rolling Stone that this season is very scary to watch at night. Nine seasons of "Coven" remain, and the finale is set Jan. 29, 2014.

John Landgraf of FX said in a statement, "Put simply, Ryan Murphy is a master television producer.Time and time again he reinvents the form. What he, co-creator Brad Falchuk and their producers Dante Di Loreto, Tim Minear, Jennifer Salt, James Wong, Brad Buecker, Jessica Sharzer, Douglas Petrie, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, Alexis Martin Woodall and the entire production team and cast responsible for the 'American Horror Story' franchise have done is nothing short of extraordinary. Every year, they create a riveting and brilliant new miniseries. 'AHS: Coven' is the best yet, and I have no doubt that the next installment will be even better." John continued, obtained through Huffington Post.

Jessica Lange, the Oscar winner actress, has starred in all the seasons of "American Horror Story" and will also star Season 4. Although, she revealed to The Huffington Post that Season 4 will be her last.

Lange will do the next season of "American Horror Story." Later, she will do one or two movies and then will start something new in her life.

Co-creator of "American Horror Story" Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that Lange hedges on coming back for a new season.

"Every year, she says, 'OK, that's my last one.' But she's already committed to the fourth series. I can see 'American Horror Story' going 10 years, 12 years and 15 years.

"I think it's limitless because it re-energizes every year, and I would love for Lange to be part of it every year," Ryan said.
