‘American Horror Story’ Season 4 ‘Freak Show’ Update: Skyler Samuels Roped In To Play Pivotal Role, Extended Teaser Released [VIDEO]
"American Horror Story" Season 4, which is subtitled "Freak Show," has roped in several new actors. The latest to join the show is Skyler Samuels. She has signed on for a recurring role in the upcoming season, though the details about her character are not yet known.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the actress has a "major recurring arc" and a "pivotal role" in the Season 4 of FX's anthology series. Without revealing much about the character that she is going to play, the report says that she will be portraying a "local who finds herself in a tough situation." Meanwhile, Matt Bomer, Neal Caffrey of "White Collar," is also joining the "Freak Show." He has a guest role and again not much is known about the character that he is going to play. Patti LaBelle also has a four-episode arc in the new season. Also joining the star-cast of "American Horror Story" Season 4 are: Wes Bentley, John Carroll Lynch and Finn Wittrock.
The recently released extended teaser, which is called ""Voyeur," features the main star cast, Jessica Lange (Elsa Mars, the woman running one of the last remaining freaks shows in the U.S.), Kathy Bates (bearded woman Effil Darling), Sarah Paulson (conjoined twins, with two heads, Dot and Bette Tattler), Angela Basset (three-breasted woman Desiree Dupree), Evan Peter (the man with lobster-like hands, Jimmy Darling). The teaser also provides a glimpse of the smallest woman in the world, Jyoti Amge, and veteran actor Michael Chiklis, who is playing the strong man Wendell Del Toredo. Emma Roberts (Maggie), Frances Conroy and Gabourey Sidibe are also returning to star in Season 4 of "American Horror Story."
"American Horror Story-Freak Show" is set in 1952 in Jupiter, Florida. Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the show, is directing Episode 1. According to the official description, "This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amid the dying world of the American carny experience."
"American Horror Story" Season 4 is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 8, 2014.
