American Horror Story Season 4 Freak Show: Who is Playing What Role
"American Horror Story" Season 4, which is subtitled "Freak Show," is set to begin production in mid-July. The new season is set in 1950 and in Jupiter, Florida. The new season promises to be thrilling and terrifyingly dark, with a lighter tone.
Jessica Lange: In her final "American Horror Story" appearance, Lange will be playing a German ex-pat who is running one of the last freak shows in the U.S. The performers appearing in her freak show have been rescued by her and they will do anything to keep the business running. To portray this role, the actress has reportedly worked on her German accent.
Denis O' Hare: The actor appeared as Spalding in "American Horror Story" Season 3, "Coven." In the upcoming season, O'Hare is playing the role of someone who will be pitted against Lange's character. The actor revealed to Vulture that he will be a "collector of freaks."
"I'm going to be working at cross-purposes with her [Lange's character]. We'll have lots of scenes with each other, but we'll be battling," O' Hare said.
Sarah Paulson: She is rumoured to be playing conjoined twins, Bette and Dot. Paulson's character will be one of the performers in the freak show. The actress has learned a new skill to perform this role and is expected to be seen with two heads.
Michael Chiklis: The new addition to the cast list of "American Horror Story" will be seen in a key role. Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the show, has revealed to TV Line that Chiklis' character will be married to Angela Bassett's character and he is a "strong man" who is "vulnerable." Kathy Bates will be portraying the role of his ex-wife. The actor will have scenes with Lange, Bassett and Bates.
Evan Peters: The actor will be playing one of the performers in the freak show. Peters' character is apparently the son of Chiklis' character.
Clown Killer: It is not yet revealed who is playing the role of Clown Killer. Murphy had said to Entertainment Weekly that there is a scary clown in Season 4. Speaking about the new season, the co-creator had said, "... if you have a character named the Clown Killer, it's going to be dark."
Also, Murphy had also confirmed that there will be their version of a bearded lady in the freak show.
The cast and crew of "American Horror Show" will be returning to New Orleans to film Season 4.
