American Idol 2013 Top 6 performs Wednesday night on FOX, with only one man left standing in the race for the title. Candice Glover and Amber Holcomb are in a competition all their own: "Who's the real showstopper?" On the far opposite end is Lazaro Arbos, whose two numbers didn't justify at all how he outlasted Burnell Taylor and Devin Velez in the reality singing competition.

Candice Glover who joins American Idol the second time this year, failed to impress last year's Idol judges: Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler. If she were this amazingly good last year, she and aspiring diva Jessica Sanchez would have had a couple of major sing-offs! As fate would have it, she has Amber Holcomb to contend with this year. The two girls appear to be in an Idol competition all their own. The rest of the girls seem to be running for Best Country, Best Pop, or Best Songwriter. And then there's Lazaro Arbos.

"(A)ll I can say is no, no, no. That was horrible," Jackson reacts to Arbos' "Close to You" performance. The dual theme for this Idol week makes use of songs from Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Idol hopefuls perform twice, with the next number being "songs they wished they'd written."

Here's a little trivia on last year's "songs Idol hopefuls wished they'd written." American Idol 2012 Phillip Phillips shared via Twitter recently that "Volcano" by Damien Rice was not on the list of songs contestants could sing. The last WGWG Idol winner said he fought for his song choice and that's how he wound up giving one of his best Idol performances.

Going back to Arbos, his fans had hoped he'd do better with Robbie Williams' "Angel," but that, too, didn't turn out half-well. Even Idol judge Mariah Carey has started to be a tad more honest with him now. If only vocals would matter in the competition, there will be an all-girls Idol Top 5 by the end of Thursday's results night. However, Arbos is still expected to get sympathy votes that could give him a spot on the Final Five. (VotefortheWorst.com has much to say about this.)

Angie Miller and Kree Harrison stayed on Idol Top 3 for weeks of Top 10 (with Glover) and Top 7 (with Arbos). These are the only weeks in which a Top 3 in random order was revealed. Fans have no idea whether Arbos was No. 1 last week. What viewers can easily tell is that he's not the best in the competition. As to whether or not he's inspirational, it has been established on auditions period. His story would have carried on more beautifully if he had graduated from Idol on Hollywood Week.

Now Idol viewers, especially those hoping for an all-girls Top 5 could only vote, wish, and hope for an enjoyable singing competition.
