American Idol 2013 Top 5 performance night is made socially relevant by top contender Candice Glover, who captured everyone with "Miracle" by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. America is still reeling from the emotionally devastating Boston marathon explosion tragedy. But Glover's delivery of the powerful inspirational song seems to have lifted many spirits, if only for the night.

"Before we start tonight, we do want to send our support to everyone affected by this week's tragic events in Boston," American Idol host Ryan Seacrest said at the beginning of the show. "With heavy hearts, we're going to put on the best show we can for you this evening."

For many viewers, the best show unfolded the minute Glover sang the first notes of "Miracle." A choir was revealed as the song peaks, and Glover brought the house down with stirring brilliant runs! Idol judge Mariah Carey was completely carried away and reduced to tears.

The diva made a statement last week when she showered Glover with glitter dust. Glover's compelling "Lovesong" number earned her the diva's solid respect. But Carey's not the only one singing praises for Glover. Idol judge Nicki Minaj enjoyed Glover's "Miracle," too. The pop star also emphasized on the relevance of the song at this time in America -- when families affected by the Boston marathon explosion are recovering from an attack against humanity.

"That is how you do a Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston song," Nicki Minaj said. "We all know you can sing. You tore that song up. But there's a bigger message here. ... Everybody needs to hear that right now."

"That's the best vocal of the night," Randy Jackson said. "You are so in the zone."

"I love your voice, because it stops me in my tracks the second you open your voice and start singing," Keith Urban told Glover.

"Personally, I think you can sing anything in front of anybody, anywhere," Carey told Glover. "You did it justice." Carey may have cried quite a few times on Idol since the auditions. But her tears are doubly meaningful for Glover. She bravely took on two timeless divas and sang in front of one of them - live.

Glover has gone farther than any one among the rest of the girls in the Top 5. The "Miracle" and "Lovesong" renditions may have guaranteed a Final Two spot for Glover.

Meanwhile, Janelle Arthur is still struggling to keep up with the more impressive vocals of the other girls. Could she be sent home after this week's results show? Also at risk (despite delivering excellent numbers) is Amber Holcomb, who couldn't seem to get a solid support from the voters. American Idol 12 Top 4 will be revealed in 24 hours.
