American Idol 2013: Candice Glover as Winner? Angie Miller’s Theatrics Could Place Her at No. 2 [PHOTOS]
American Idol 2013 Top 3 performance night this week features three vocally-equipped all-girls finalists. Who will be AI12's big winner - Candice Glover, Angie Miller, or Kree Harrison?
Here are some of the factors that could play out to make Candice Glover the winner of American Idol Season 12. Kree is widely expected to go home this week. Angie, the most popular Idol hopeful across social media channels, is sometimes annoying in her unnecessary theatrics. Wait, there's more.
America Idol 2013: Angie Miller vs Candice Glover?
Angie Miller appears to be a favourite among American Idol producers and crew. She is undoubtedly a much more relatable artist than Candice. Angie's fun photos on Facebook, for instance, put Candice's timeline to shame. Unlike Candice, Angie has mad songwriting skills, which she has already proven as early as Hollywood week. Angie's chic fashion style also wins out against Candice's tight pants forever ensemble. But she is not without certain weaknesses.
Angie does not always choose the right songs on American Idol. She also sometimes makes the mistake of overdoing things on stage - from performance gestures to song arrangements. Remember her version of Rihanna's "Diamonds?" It is a perfect example of how Angie's over-enthusiasm could throw her off the Idol path to Idol championship.
Candice Glover, on the other hand, is a vocals boss. Weeks ago, Idol viewers got to see the bossy side of Candice. When Burnell Taylor was still in the competition, she totally bossed him out like a big sis. But their duet of "The Letter" was brilliant, with Candice in control. If American Idol is about mad vocals, Kree and Angie should bow down to her mad talent. She keeps it simple and yet powerful.
If Candice plays her Adele card again, she can beat Angie by a wide margin in Idol votes. Candice's Adele-inspired cover of The Cure's "Lovesong" is arguably the best number thus far in this American Idol season. The second best would be "Miracle," again by Candice, who bravely took on both Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey in a compelling number.
