Season 12 runner-up Angie Miller should be reserved the right to “big grin” and “mischievous smiles” as reports of first week sales of American Idol 2013 winner Candice Glover and runner-up Kree Harrison came out this week. And the numbers are not looking good as they are selling worse than Lee De Wyze.

According to americanidol.net, the first week sales of Candice’s single “I Am Beautiful,” was recorded with 54,000 downloads. And Kree’s “All Cried Out” got more than fifty percent less of that figure, with downloads only at 24,000. This is way too low for first week sales compared to Phillip Phillips’ single, “Home,” recorded at an astounding figure at 278,000 downloads.

Not surpassing Phillips’ sales is understandable since the hot Idol singer has continued to dominate the music scene the whole year - - topping the Billboards, receiving awards - - those that makes one a big star.

But for neither Candice nor Kree to get sales, a week after the finale, lower than Lee DeWyze’s cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day,” has gotten America (and maybe the world) spinning. Lee’s first week sales were recorded at about 100,000 downloads. This was already a big disappointment for America back then with Taylor Hicks single, “Do I Make You Proud” got almost half more than Lee’s at 190,147 downloads.

For Candice and Kree to have even worse than Lee DeWeyze is way beyond anybody’s imagination and huge expectation. For years America did not have female winner and runner-up and they got both in Season 12 and it looked like America wasn’t too excited to listen to either both of them.

Let’s just hope that Angie Miller also did not fare better than Candice and Kree, otherwise, American Idol is really in for a big trouble. Or is it America?
