American Idol 2013: Kree Harrison Shines on Rock 'n' Roll Night, Burnell Taylor at Risk?
American Idol 2013 delivers the Top 7 performance night with a Rock 'n' Roll theme Wednesday via Fox. Kree Harrison, continues to convince spectators she's going to break the Idol gentlemen's winning streak this year. Meanwhile, early favorite Burnell Taylor could be at risk of landing in the Bottom Three again after an awkward Bon Jovi number.
This is another winning night for Kree Harrison, who is clearly a Final Three contender. Last week's results showed how voters are looking at this year's Idol hopefuls. Mentor Jimmy Iovine had called it right: the remaining three boys were in the bottom of the polls. The streak of guys losing to the girls continued as balladeer Devin Velez was sent home. Judging from his song choices in the past, it is difficult to imagine him rocking the Top 7 performance night, anyway.
Kree has everything an Idol is expected to showcase: the looks, the vibe, the big vocals. The same can be said of early favorite Angie Miller. But when it comes to that immeasurable umph factor, Miller comes a little short. Kree was not exactly astounding when she sang Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart," but her performance as a whole was compelling.
"Now, guys, I feel like the show finally started tonight," says Randy Jackson after Kree's number Wednesday. "That's how you come out and rock the stage," the original Idol judge added. It may sound like the judges have nothing new to say, but it's enough that they are doing their best to credit their favorites.
Kree joins Miller and Candice Glover in the Top 3 of the results night on the first week. It looks like these three will be competing until the end of Idol Season 12. It is a shame Amber Holcomb could not shake this group even with her amazing vocals. But one thing seems to be 100 per cent sure now: a girl will win Idol this year.
