This could be the night for Kree Harrison to prove everyone wrong that she, not Angie Miller deserves to go head to head with Candice Glover on American Idol 2013 Final showdown. But as if handing the title out to Candice, Kree didn’t appear to come on stage to fight and win the battle, resulting in only one win of the three-round final showdown.

Kree won the coin toss and Candice took a backseat for her first performance. Both Candice and Kree have three songs each to impress in the judges and the audience that both of them deserve to be on the final two on Idol Season 12.

Kree’s Performances

Round 1: Angel by Sarah McLachlan (Watch the performance here).
This was a good song choice for Kree as it fits her voice. The Southeastern singer however, was clearly fumbling on some notes, especially the lower ones. It should be noted however, that this wasn’t a good start for Kree.

A look at the video showed Kree a bit disoriented, a bit disconnected from the audience, from the song, from everything. As the camera pans around Kree, she was chanced upon in three occasions giving a “lost-look,” as if asking herself, “what’s the next line.”

Evidently, Kree didn’t win the first round despite the “uncomfortable silence from the judges after Kree’s first performance. Candice had the first round on with her rendition of “Chasing Pavements” by Adele.

Round 2: “All Cried Out.” (Watch the performance here).
This was Kree’s moment of the evening. With her rendition of the song, Kree shined and she owned the stage. She sounded like a real professional singer. The way she stretched out high notes and cut the music into phrases reminded everyone why she, not Angie Miller was not on Top Final 2 on American Idol Season 12. Except for Nicki Minaj, all the judges stood up to give Kree the well-deserved standing ovation. Kree won the second round.

Round 3: “Up to the Mountain.” (Watch the performance here).
The song is considered Kree’s best song and it gave the top 2 finalist “one of her best shining moments” in the competition, noted RochesterCityNewspaper.com. Indeed, Kree has showed great vocals in her third song and she appeared more confident and more connected to the audience (and to the whole competition) But no matter how great her third performance, it was no match to Candice’s “I Who Have Nothing.” Kree was great in her third song, with all of the judges, (including Nicki Mina) gave her standing ovation. But she was no match to Candice’s third performance.

Who do you think won the night?
