American Idol 2013 Top 2 finalists Candice Glover and Kree Harrison sang three songs each Wednesday night on FOX. Glover's 'Favorite Performance' pick, "I (Who Have Nothing)" was a showstopper to say the least. Is it enough to seal her win?

It's country (Kree Harrison) vs soul (Candice Glover) in this year's AI 12 finale. Glover's songs have been generally brilliantly picked, except for Simon Fuller's choice. It is curious why Mr Fuller, Idol franchise creator, would pick a less powerful Adele song. "Chasing Pavements" is certainly catchy, popular and well-written. But it does not give Glover much chance to showcase her big vocals.

Thankfully, Glover's American Idol 2013 coronation single - the song she'd perform Thursday in case she wins - is a good song that can be popular in the radio, too. That said, Fuller could have sacrificed 100% 'radio friendliness' for something more vocally challenging. Then again, the song he picked for Kree Harrison, "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, is a bit odd, too.

"I Am Beautiful" is the title of Candice Glover's song in the 'Coronation Single' round. The song "fit her like a Glover," said Idol judge Keith Urban.

Whatever oddities were there in Candice Glover's set of songs for the American Idol 2013 finale, "I Who Have Nothing," canceled them all. Starting a capella, Glover was a showstopper in the Ben E. King song. Glover hit notes and some heart strings in a way that can secure an Idol win.

Incidentally, the last female Idol winner, Jordin Sparks (2007), performed the same song during British Invasion Week on American Idol Season 6. Sparks performed the same song in the Top 3 week against Simon Cowell's favorite (eventual No.3), Melinda Doolittle and eventual runner-up Blake Lewis.
