American Idol 2013 Winner: Candice Glover or Kree Harrison? (CREDIT: FOX via Facebook)

- American Idol 2013 Top 10 opens the show, singing "The Wanted's Glad You Came."

- Host Ryan Seacrest welcomes the audience to the "event of the season."

- The Band Perry is the first guest performer of the night. Idol 12 finalist No. 5 Janelle Arthur comes in to join the band perform their hit single, "Done." Janelle's a more engaging and convincing performer now. Either she's being lifted by the band's energy, or the pressure of the competition simply did not work well with her.

- American Idol 2007 Winner Jordin Sparks appears in a supposedly funny video of how the Top 5 boys were sabotaged on the show.

- The Idol Top 5 guys take the stage. Devin Velez, Burnell Taylor, Lazaro Arbos, Paul Jolley and Curtis Finch, Jr. were all together cheesy in their number, which is a shame. Some of them have really good vocals but they were given a choreography that makes for a rather awkward trip down memory lane.

- Mr Frankie Valli joins the boys. And he brings with in some timeless class - in performance and vocals! (And the boys were schooled.)

- Next up is a medley from the diva who's sold over 200 million albums (and who is not expected to come back to be an Idol judge next year), Mariah Carey!

- American Idol 2013 No. 4 finalist Amber Holcomb is back on stage. She's singing "Next To Me." She calls in Emeli Sandé.

- Ford 'Fiesta Missions' follow. Mentors of finalists Candice Glover and Kree Harrison get a Ford Fiesta each.

- Ryan Seacrest queues a performance by Psy. The audience goes wild as he performs "Gentleman."

- Keith Urban performs "A Little Bit of Everything." (We've just seen back to back performances from South Korea and Australia on American Idol.)

- Candice Glover sings "Inseparable." And then she calls in Jennifer Hudson. The judges are visibly enjoying the duet.

- Angie Miller gets two duets: one with Adam Lambert and another with her "personal idol" Jessie J. Nicki Minaj is enjoying the show. Jessie J announces she's inviting Angie to do a show with her in the UK.

- American Idol Top 10 pokes fun at the judges. A lot of what's been on Twitterverse, they bring to a hilariously candid video. Producers save the best for last: Devin Velez dons an odd wig and some fake huge, pointy butt. Nicki is seen laughing. This probably means all is well between Devin and Nicki, who had a public spat on Twitter some weeks ago.

- Kree Harrison performs with Keith Urban and Randy Jackson on stage. Urban is showing off some mean guitar skills. (It is curious how Kree is the first to perform without guest celebrities on stage. Personal choice?)

- "It's the end of an era," says Ryan Seacrest. The dawg, Randy Jackson, gets a tribute. Some sub-titled dogs introduced a montage of '12 years of the dawg' in the Idol panel. After the video, Randy thanks the audience. At one point, he takes both Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj in for a 'world peace' hug.

- Aretha Franklin appears in a live feed from New York. The Queen of Soul wishes Candice Glover and Kree Harrison good luck. The Top 5 girls appear for a live performance with Ms Franklin. Mariah Carey is singing-in at the panel, having a fan moment. (Less than 30 minutes before the announcement of American Idol 2013 winner.)

- Less than 15 minutes until the big moment. A video montage of past American Idol winners is getting many viewers nostalgic. Idol hopefuls get the next schedule for auditions.

- The two finalists get a Ford Escape! Then Ryan queues in a tribute video to American Idol 2013. The mood is set by Idol 2012 winner Phillip Phillips' "Gone, Gone, Gone." Kez Ban re-appears in one of the most memorable quirky auditions this season.

- Ryan announces an 'expected surprise.' Jennifer Lopez with Pitbull on Idol House, live! (Ten minutes before the Idol 2013 winner's name is called.)

- Candice Glover and Kree Harrison perform sans vocal acrobats. Both dressed in shimmering black gowns for the coronation -- but only one name will be announced the winner.

- And the announcement comes -- dim the lights -- American Idol 2013 (Season 12) winner is Candice Glover!

- Angie Miller hands the tearful Candice the Idol mic. Now she sings her coronation song, "I Am Beautiful." (It must be noted just how lovely and elegant she looks in a gown. Worth the wait, eh!)
