'American Idol' 2014 Episode 5 Recap: AI Season 13 'Auditions

"American Idol" 2014 also known as "American Idol XIII" is back on its fifth episode after last week's episode which featured auditions in Atlanta, Georgia with "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest and AI Season 13 judges actor/Jazz musician Harry Connick, Jr., actress/singer/dancer Jennifer Lopez and country star Keith Urban. They gave out a total of 44 golden tickets in Atlanta, Georgia. All in all, there are 163 golden tickets (Boston, MA: 25, Austin, TX: 35, San Francisco, CA: 19, Detroit, MI: 40, Atlanta, GA: 44) that have already been handed out to successful contestants. This time auditions were held in Salt Lake City, Utah at the EnergySolutions Arena and the Marriott Hotel at City Creek. 'American Idol XIII' 2014 Episode 5 Highlights:

Aside from the talented AI hopefuls who auditioned in Salt Lake City, Utah, this episode also featured a glimpse of the AI judges before they were famous. It showed a 6-year-old Keith Urban auditioning on a TV show, a 22-year-old Jennifer Lopez as a Fly Girl and a 10-year-old Harry Connick Jr. WONDER MIKE from Sugarhill Gang also made a cameo appearance.

'American Idol XIII' Hopefuls from Salt Lake City, Utah with Golden Tickets:

1. Austin Wolfe - from Park City, Utah. Sang "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons.

2. Kylee Brook Adamson - 18-year-old lumberjack (or lumberjill) from Salem, Utah. Sang "When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Krauss/Ronan Keating.

3. Keith Sanders

4. Michael Simeon

5. Tessa Norman

6. Alex Preston - from New Hampshire. Plays multiple instruments including the guitar, violin and drums. Sang an original song.

7. Samantha Calmes - 25-year-old mental health worker from Salt Lake City, Utah. Wore a fanny pack while singing "The Jeffersons" theme song "Movin' On Up."

8. Julie Offill - from the "American Idol" Bus Tour.

9. LeBryant Crew - Preacher who wants to be the first preacher to be an "American Idol" winner.

10. Laurel Wright - sang an original song.

11. D.J. Bradley - was compared by AI judges to singer Ed Sheeran.

12. Kenzie Hall - 16-year old student from Draper, Utah. Sang "I'm Gonna Find Another You" by John Mayer.

13. Paisley Van Patten - battled with alcoholism before. Does a mean Cher impression.

16. C.J. Harris - Sang an Allman Brothers song and dedicated it to his dad who died in 2013.

17. Tiquila Wilson - Church singer who also works at a funeral home.

18. Emily Rottler - 17-year old guitarist.

19. Briston Maroney - 15- year-old guitarist with vintage Gibson guitar from his great-grandfather. Sang "You Can't Always Get What You Want."

20. Sabrina Lentini - 15-year-old who claims that she waited for 13 years to be in "American Idol."

21. Leia "Fish" Lotulelei - has a falsetto voice and wore a bowtie to auditions.

23. Carmen Delgina - her father is WONDER MIKE from Sugarhill Gang.

26. Dexter Roberts - Farmer from Alabama who raises dogs to hunt ducks. Sang "I Like to Drive" by Casey James.

The AI Season 13 judges particulary Harry Connick, Jr. were all impressed with the turnout of the auditions in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"There's a lot of talented people in this world and they all come to 'American Idol,'" said AI judge Harry Connick, Jr. in the "American Idol XIII" episode 5 as stated in a Hit Fix report.

Watch out for these talented AI hopefuls from Salt Lake City, Utah. One of them will be the next superstar and will earn the title of becoming the next "American Idol."

However, it's the end of the road to Hollywood for these contestants: Samantha Townsend, Haydn Olsen, Chase Boyle, Missy Cyclopes,Chase Thornton,Jessica Bassett,Ally Roundy,Carson Henline and Kimberly Tosti. Better luck next time, guys!
