'American Idol' 2014 Results: Voters Pick Top 7; Sam Woolf, Malaya Watson, Dexter Roberts, Jess Meuse - Who Goes Home? [VIDEO]
"American Idol" 2014 (Season 13) Top 8 tackled songs from the '80s Wednesday, Apr. 10, on FOX. CJ Harris, Jessica Meuse, Malaya Watson and Dexter Roberts are the weakest performers this week. Results are in. Who lands in the bottom three and who makes it to the Top 7?
American Idol 2014 judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr have used their singular "save" for Sam Woolf. Whoever gets the lowest votes this week goes home and leaves AI Season 13 at the 8th place.
Sam Woolf showed some improvement this week on American Idol 2014. He was more accessible and loose. Perhaps this week's AI mentor David Cook has significantly helped him. (And "mentor" Randy Jackson was taken to school.) Teens and tweens are expected to rally behind Sam this week after his near-elimination a week ago.
It is a shame that someone who has barely any pitch issues like Sam Woolf is more likely to go home than someone like CJ Harris, who can barely stay on key. American Idol 2014 nearly saw Woolf leave last week had the judges not used their only "save" for the season.
Still, Sam Woolf's "Time After Time" (Cyndi Lauper) cover is much better than Malaya Watson's "Through The Fire" (Chaka Khan) performance. This could be the last week for Malaya on AI Season 13. She is in danger of landing in the bottom three with CJ Harris and Jessica Meuse or Dexter Roberts.
The issue with Jessica Meuse has always been the "enjoyment" that David Cook found missing in her performance. Jess prides herself with her passion for music. But in all her live numbers on American Idol 2014, she felt frozen when she was not singing an original. Jessica has never been in the bottom three, but this week could change that.
Dexter Roberts has landed once in the bottom three. This week it could happen again. He was not compelling enough when he performed "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" (Georgia Satellites). The under-delivery could reflect in the American Idol 2014 Top 8 results.
Caleb Johnson, Jena Irene Asciutto and Alex Preston were the top performers this week on AI Season 13. (And they have been in the last couple of weeks.) Despite the mess-up that was Preston's arrangement of "Every Breath You Take" (The Police), he had a few strong, impressive moments during his number.
JLo, Keith, and Harry all say CJ Harris has the "magic" to connect to the viewers. Yet he has been in the bottom three for two weeks in a row on American Idol 2014. Is the "nice guy" really connecting to the voters?

American Idol 2014 Top 7 results are in. And the millions of viewers still watching the show on FOX could see Malaya Watson, CJ Harris and Jessica Meuse or Dexter Roberts in the bottom three.
UPDATE: This feature will be updated as soon as AI 2014 host Ryan Seacrest announces the season's Top 7.
Malaya Watson was eliminated Thursday. The young tuba player landed in the bottom two with CJ Harris.
