‘American Idol’ 2014 Season 13 Episode 7 'Hollywood or Home Round' Recap [WATCH VIDEOS]

"American Idol" 2014 also known as "American Idol XIII" is back on its seventh episode after last Thursday's episode (air date: Jan. 30, 2014) which featured auditions in Omaha, Nebraska. Of course, any "American Idol" episode would be incomplete without the master of ceremonies which is AI host Ryan Seacrest as well as the panel of judges. For AI Season 13, judges Harry Connick, Jr., Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez were on hand to separate the talented and promising contestants from the mediocre ones. "American Idol XIII" judges Lopez, Urban and Connick Jr already gave out a total of 212 golden tickets to Hollywood to AI hopefuls (Boston, MA: 25, Austin, TX: 35, San Francisco, CA: 19, Detroit, MI: 40, Atlanta, GA: 44, Salt Lake City, UT: 30, Omaha, Ne: 19) including the special audition bus tours that were held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Little Rock, Arkansas, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Knoxville, Tennessee and Oxford, Mississippi.

However, because of the sheer number of AI hopefuls that passed the auditions, they still had to whittle it down to a smaller and more manageable number. That's why the contestants had to undergo another surprise round of eliminations which will send them either to Hollywood or homeward bound.

The "Hollywood or Home Round" took place in an airplane hangar. The AI Season 13 Hollywood hopefuls including Johnny Newcomb, Connor Zwetsch, Ali Jane Henderson, Tristen Langley, Morgan Deplitch and Neco Starr had to wow the judges once more so that they can stay in the competition a little while longer.

52 "American Idol" contestants were separated from the rest and are up for elimination. Keith, Jennifer and Harry separated the ones they are not entirely sure of or the "maybes" into two groups and put them on two different buses, with one going to the hotel, and the other group headed to the airport to go home because they didn't make the cut.

The first bus sent home 32 AI hopefuls and the second bus which had 20 singers on it, proceeded to the hotel and are safe, for now.

On the next day, the AI Season 13 judges further eliminated even more contestants including Samantha Clades, Selena Morreno, Ayla Stackhouse.

Jennifer, Harry and Keith narrowed the contestants down to 104 singers and they tell this batch to prepare to perform with fellow AI hopefuls for Group Day. They provided song lists for the remaining contestants to choose from and they had to band together in groups of four or three to perform again in front of the AI Season 13 judges.
