The battle for the American Idol title is between finalists Philip Philips and Jessica Sanchez.

Joshue Ledet was the last finalist voted off as he received the lowest number of votes from the grand total of 90 million votes.

Ledet performed a passionate rendition of the song, "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" before he was eliminated during the elimination round.

Randy Jackson mentioned in his comment before Ledet was eliminated that the final contestants were "three of the best we've ever had" and also added that the three finalists have "big careers" in their future.

In this episode of American Idol, the show also took the chance to pay tribute to the Queen of Disco, Donna Summer.

Rita Wilson, the famous actress and singer mentioned a few words about the singer.

"Her music really did define a decade. You couldn't live in the '70s and not sing along to every single one of her songs. She was an amazing woman, amazing talent. Gorgeous voice." said Wilson.

The final showdown for this season of American Idol is between Jessica Sanchez and Philip Philips. This might be the toughest competition yet in the show's history since both finalists have shown enormous potential and talent in every round. Philip Phillips hails from Leesburg, Ga. while Jessica Sanchez is from Chula Vista, California.
