The stage is being set for the biggest night of American Idol Season 12.

Already stories are floating around on some potential pairings for the much awaited grand finale on May 16. According to a source of The Hollywood Reporter, among these exciting match ups is the duet between season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert and this year's top contender, Angie Miller.

The two are expected to duet it out on the show's closer which is just over a week away.

This year, "Idol" producers have asked back some of the show's successful alums which included David Cook, Jessica Sanchez, Kelly Clarkson, among others. They have all appeared promoting their latest albums and projects, providing viewers a glimpse of what their lives have become after American Idol.

Apart from Lambert, THR also reported that season 3 contestant Jennifer Hudson is also being asked back for the show's season 12 finale. Hudson, however, has yet to confirm her appearance in the show. Hudson, despite finishing seventh during her season, is already an Oscar winner for her performance in the movie Dreamgirls in 2006.

According to THR, other exciting pairings confirmed for May 16 show include The Band Perry, a country group who will perform with fifth placer Janelle Arthur, and Frankie Valli who will have a production number with the five male finalists.

Jennifer Lopez, according to several sources, is also expected to grace the show's finale.

The final two from among Kree Harrison, Candice Glover and Miller, will battle it out live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California on May 15 and 16.
