Mariah Carey opened up about working on Fox's "American Idol." And she is not very pleased about the whole experience; in fact, she mentioned words like hell and Satan in the statement.

Nothing was right about the last edition of "American Idol." The rating plunged to an all time low. Producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick were asked to quit the show at the end of the season. Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were up against each other (remember the stares and glares). It was rumoured that they played it all for the camera in order to get ratings. But event after months of officially quitting the show, they still can't stand each other.

This week, Carey appeared on Hot 97 to talk about her forthcoming album. She was asked questions about her experience working in "American Idol." Carey was told that she will be a part of three-person panel consisting of her friend Randy Jackson, and one more person. But, it turned out to be a four-person panel.

"It was like hell. It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan," Mariah Carey described the horror, obtained via Entertainment Weekly.

Also, she had issues with the show as the producers favoured certain people and let them through and refused others due to "political reasons."

"And I'm like, I'm not going to sit here and do this. I would prefer to put this person in a studio and record a record with them," Carey said.

Well, it clearly Mariah Carey had a harrowing time judging the contestants in "American Idol."

Both, Carey and Minaj are officially off the show and the new season of "American Idol" has Urban, Jenifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. as judges.

"American Idol" premieres on Jan. 15. What do you think about the new line-up?
