Just hours after recently-hailed American Idol Scotty McCreery released his single "I Love You This Big", the song has already nabbed the #1 position in iTunes' charts. This early success proves that things couldn't get any better for the country music's newest superstar.

I Love You This Big not only dominated the iTunes list but also broke Billboard country chart records. The song charged-in at no.32, the highest debut of any new artist after 2004's I Meant To by Brad Cotter, second winner of Nashville Star. I Love You This Big is included in McCreery's yet-to-be-released album Crazy Ride.

The 17-year-old from Raleigh North Carolina impressed the judges with his romantic, bluesy voice and southern boy charm. From humble beginnings as a supermarket clerk who's not even out of high school, last Wednesday's American Idol final verdict was the confirmation to his superstardom. "All of this has been pretty wild," says McCreery in an interview for Billboard.com. On the same interview, McGreery divulges future performances with runner-up Lauren Alaina at the Grand Ole Opry where Carrie Underwood also made her debut. "They're trying to work out the specifics right now about where we're gonna be playing, the booth signings and maybe playing at the Grand Ole Opry", says the country sensation.

Not all American Idol winners have been continuously successful after the show, with Fantasia and Taylor Hicks as clear cut examples.

McCreery is the second country singer to win the title after Underwood who has been topping countless charts since her debut. It seems like the reception for country music will only go upstream, especially with the unraveling McGreery's exciting career outside Idol. "It's a whole lot more than I bargained for coming into this. But I think I'm handling it OK. This is my new life, so it's good," says the American Idol.
