Only two more weeks before the breathtaking finale.

English-born Hollie Cavanagh's sang her last when she was voted off Thursday night, leaving the contest's hopefuls down to three.

Her Final Four performance "I Can't Make You Love Me" proved to be prophetic, as voters did not seem to cast enough love to keep her in the competition. A perennial-bottom dweller, Cavanagh had a stretch of amazing performances the past three weeks, until the voters decided it's time for her to go.

Around 70 million votes were cast to determine the outcome of Wednesday's Final Four performances. That night's episode required the contestants to sing songs from artist hailing from California, succeeded by songs they wished they have composed.

Cavanagh fist performed a piece from the rock band Journey, the classic Faithfully. It earned her praises from the judges, who previously have been critical of her. Randy Jackson even called out the performance as making the vocalist of the band "proud".

However, her climb went downhill during her second performance. She sang Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me, but her stiff and impassionate interpretation turned off the judges. Mentor Jimmy Iovine even remarked Cavanagh to have "crashed and burned". The 18-year old's failure to impress was described to have come from her lack of real-life experiences needed to infuse every song with emotions.

Cavanagh's swan song was Miley Cyrus' The Climb, a piece she sang some weeks ago that earned her glowing remarks from judges. She managed to stay composed while singing as her closes friend and fellow contestant Joshua Ledet wept on the sidelines.

The crown is up for grabs for three remaining hopefuls. Gospel and soul singer Joshua Ledet has always been a favorite. Blues rocker Phillip Phillips is expected to continue his own merry ways. Lastly, the only girl remaining is 16-year old Jessica Sanchez, whose powerful performances have earned her massive support from both fans and artists.
