The figures for the first-week single sales of this year’s Top 2 winners are telling a different story with singles of both Candice and Kree recorded the all-time low in sales a week after finale. After years of not having female winner on the show, America seemed not very excited to listen to the music of this year’s Top 2 winners, based on first-week single sales released this week.

Candice Glover’s “I Am Beautiful” only had 54,000 downloads, while Kree Harrison recorded more than 50 per cent less of Candice’s at 24,000. What’s even worse was their single sales one week after the finale was almost 50 per cent less than the lowest sales recorded before them - - Lee DeWyze’s cover of U2’s”Beautiful Day.”

Has America got it wrong this time? Would it have been better if Angie Miller had won? Does the figure represent how America feels for the reality TV show?

Could this be a wake-up call for the show’s officials to ensure viewers to see a lot of new things for Season 13 and not just new set of judges but new programming and new format?
