The elimination for this week’s Top 9 of “American Idol” has raised questions as to what America really wants for their next “Idol” winner when Pia Toscano was taken away from the rest of the pack for good and sent home after Wednesday’s performance night.

Fox News said that even the judges ‘looked floored’ when they heard Pia Toscano’s name to give her last performance for the show.

The audience gasped, observed Fox News. And the judges read their minds.

"No, no, no!", Randy Jackson was caught protesting as he heard the name - - the audience did not hear him drop the F-bomb as the camera panned away from him and back to the stage.

Jennifer Lopez could not put into so many words how she felt when Toscano’s name was called.

"I have no idea...I'm shocked, I'm angry, I don't even know what to say," Jennifer Lopez said.

At this point Randy Jackson was able to give more than a repetitive single-word “no”.

He said, "I'm with Jennifer."You're one of the best singers in this."

Steven Tyler was blaming America for the choice they made for the night when he said: “… lack of passion was unforgivable.”

Could the judges be thinking that this is the best time to use that one-save vote they used on Casey Abrams?
