The American Music Awards: Nominations Are In [PHOTOS]

The American Music Awards 2012 is soon to hit the Nokia Theatre by November 18 and the nominations have already been announced.

Ironically, Nicki Minaj is slugging out big time, but it won't be against "American Idol" co-host, Mariah Carey. Check out the full list of nominees here.

Chart toppers, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, are leading the nominations and it's no surprise given everyone is hooked on their songs and album. While the sexy singers earned four nominations each, other artists who earned a nod for the upcoming American Music Awards include Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Drake, One Direction and Usher. The guys all earn three nominations each.

Coming close with two nominations each are Carrie Underwood, Gotye, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Fun, Kelly Clarkson, Pitbull and Luke Bryan. While the nominations have already been announced, the nights' performers are yet to be revealed. However, it is said that "The Voice" coach, Christina Augilera will be hitting the stage for the awards night.

This year also marks a new award category named Electronic Dance Music whose nominees include Skrillex, Calvin Harris and David Guetta. Online voting has already kicked off so fans better hit the web to see their bets win on November 18.
