The first trailer of "American Sniper" shows the dilemma a soldier goes through when he is working in a stressful environment where decisions have to be made in a split second. The movie is slated to be released on Jan 22, 2015 in Australia.

Bradley Cooper plays the role of Chris Kyle, the protagonist in the movie. The trailer shows him posted as a sniper in an urban war zone with civilian population. Many times it is the soldier's call whether to consider a target as friendly or hostile. A wrong decision could lead to the killing of an innocent civilian.

The trailer of "American Sniper" begins with Chris supporting a U.S. convoy of troops clearing an area of hostile forces. He spots a man assessing the troop movement and informs head quarters about him. Seeing that the soldier may have a better perspective on the threat level, he is advised to make the call whether to shoot him or not.

Chris chooses not to fire. Moments later a woman and a very young boy step outside of the same building as the caller. The woman is carrying something which she gives to the boy. The boy is heading towards the U.S. military convoy and may be carrying a RKG Russian grenade.

The military command doesn't have any other visual on the ground and once again the decision is left to Chris. The soldier is reminded of his own wife and new born child. Images of his marriage and the birth of his child flash before him. Should he take the shot?

"American Sniper" trailer poses a difficult question to the viewers. Should the boy be shot for carrying the RKG Russian grenade? Or does the soldier not have enough evidence to take such an action? Killing of a civilian target will not only weigh on a soldier's heart but will also have ramifications on his career. But equally dangerous is allowing a terrorist attack on a U.S. convoy and allow multiple soldiers to lose their lives.

"American Sniper" will be released on Jan 16, 2015 in the U.S. and U.K. The release date in Australia and New Zealand has been set for Jan 22, 2015. The first trailer of the movie has got the fans excited to see what Clint Eastwood has in store for them.
