American Students to be Taught a Sociology Course About Miley Cyrus, [SEE COURSE DESCRIPTION HERE]
"The Sociology of Miley Cyrus" - this is the title of the new course to be taught at a college in New York City. After Cyrus has made her way into becoming a household name, she is yet making her way into the great hall of academics and education.
According to a report by Daily Gazette, Skidmore College's assistant principal Carolyn Chernoff was the one who instigated the idea and turned it into a realism. After Cyrus' antic performance during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards when she seductively grinded and twerked on Robin Thicke, Ms. Chernoff thought it she could use Cyrus to teach the students the conflict that arises when dissimilar social values and beliefs clash.
"I created it as a creative and rigorous way of looking at what's relevant about sociology and sociology theory," said Ms. Chernoff. "Miley Cyrus is a surprisingly complicated cultural moment," she added.
Furthermore, what has pushed Ms. Chernoff to further exploit and take advantage of Cyrus' social well-being was the overwhelming reaction that she got when she taught a class on upper-level youth culture. "All of a sudden, my students who claimed to be not that interested in Miley Cyrus had so much to say," she said.
Here's an excerpt from Cyrus' course syllabus as obtained by the Daily Gazette. "In this special topics course, we will explore core issues of intersectionality theory, looking at race, class, and gender, as well as taking a feminist critique of media, using Miley as a lens through which to explore sociological thinking about identity, entertainment, media, and fame." In an unbiased manner, Cyrus is not the only one to become the topic of a university course, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. Kanye West, Beyonce Knowles, Lady Gaga, and the late King of Pop Michael Jackson have once became the subjects of university studies.
Cyrus is currently on tour for her recent album "Bangerz," and there is no stopping her from doing crazy antics in her performances. On March 25 while performing in front of ther Atlanta fans, Cyrus did yet another wild gesture on stage by putting her microphone between her legs, as reported by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. Maybe Ms. Chernoff could start another course based on Cyrus' sexual behavior on tour, which has apparently made parents fuming mad to the point that they are probing on getting it canceled altogether.
