‘America’s Got Talent 2016’ update: Last 12 acts battle out for final seven spots in semifinals
After the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, the next fiercest competition will be held in Hollywood as “America’s Got Talent” season 11 resumes with its quarterfinals round next week.
The 12 acts that will be competing for the last seven spots on AGT semifinals round include 12-year-old singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal, Argentinian male dance group Malevo, acapella singers Linkin Bridge, 52-year-old contortionist Vello Vaher, duo jugglers The Passing Zone, family band Edgar, 10-year-old magician Kadan Bart Rockett, 63-year-old comedian Julia Scotti, singer Ronee, mom-and-son dance duo Alla and Daniel, 27-year-old magician Blake Vogt, and 28-year-old singer Brian Justin Crum.
“Our last 12 acts are going all out for a spot in the semifinals. It’s going to be a thriller,” AGT host Nick Cannon said, referring to the third live show on Aug. 23.
So far, voters across America have chosen the first 14 acts that will perform on “America’s Got Talent 2016” semifinals.
The semifinalists include singers Sal Valentinetti, Kadie Lynn, Calysta Bevier, Jayna Brown and Laura Bretan; magicians Jon Dorenbos, Thommy and Amelie of the mentalist couple The Clairvoyants, and Rubik’s cube genious Steven Brundage; performers Tape Face, juggler Viktor Kee, teen contortionist Sofie Dossi, stage comedian Lori Mae Hernandez and stunt couple Deadly Games; and choir group Musicality.
NBC has pushed back the airing of AGT’s third live show to give way to the live broadcast of the Olympic Games from Rio de Janeiro. Hopefuls are vying for the US$1 million (AU$1.3 million) prize on NBC's top-rated talent show.
