‘America’s Got Talent 2016’ update: One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson pushes golden buzzer for Jayna Brown
Teenagers dominate golden buzzer recipients
Jayna Brown’s choice of song to sing on “America’s Got Talent” season 11 Judge Cuts was so apt, it earned her a standing ovation plus a golden buzzer.
The 14-year-old lass from Baltimore, Maryland sang Andra Day’s “Rise Up” and her performance lifted the audience’s spirit up. The audience and AGT judges, including guest judge Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, gave her a standing ovation for it.
“It’s not just one thing with you. It’s not just the voice, not just your performance. You have everything. And it is so infectious what you’ve performed,” Tomlinson commented before finally giving Brown the most coveted golden buzzer on the NBC top-rated talent show’s fourth and final segment of Judge Cuts for “America’s Got Talent 2016.”
Asked to explain why his decision of hitting the golden buzzer for Brown, Tomlinson said “with such a gorgeous voice for a 14-year-old, you should be very excited,” referring to the teenage singer.
