Contestants share pre-finale thoughts
The ultimate battle for the most coveted title of becoming “America’s Got Talent” season 11 winner starts in two days. As the finale approaches, the Top 10 finalists cannot help but reminisce and share their musings over their respective journeys so far.
Regardless of the US$1 million (AU$1.3 million) prize they are competing for, each of the AGT contestants is already thankful to have been voted through to remain in the competition. Either way, each of them has already been famous across America and around the globe.
The youngest hopeful, Grace VanderWaal, said her family was not prepared for her instant fame. Touted by AGT judge Simon Cowell as the next Taylor Swift, the 12-year-old singer-songwriter from New York got the Golden Buzzer from AGT judge Howie Mandel during her audition.
Meanwhile, teenage opera singer Laura Bretan said meeting extraordinary people among the AGT hopefuls is one of her most unforgettable experiences in joining NBC’s top-rated talent show. The AGT judges saved Bretan during the first semifinals elimination round.
Like Bretan, teen contortionist Sofie Dossi said she treasures the friends she has made throughout the competition. Also a Golden Buzzer act, Dossi secured the #DunkinSave during the second semifinals elimination round last week.
Heidi Klum’s favorite act, Sal Valentinetti said he already feels like a winner having gotten thus far into the AGT competition. Valentinetti won Klum’s Golden Buzzer during his audition and he also secured the #DunkinSave during the quarterfinals.
For his part, 28-year-old singer Brian Justin Crum made his supporters wonder how powerful his finale performance would be.
Acapella boy band Linkin Bridge said “America’s Got Talent” has proven to them that “dreams do come true.”
Another crowd favorite, magician Jon Dorenbos has turned to his NFL supporters and fans for voting him through to the AGT finale. The 35-year-old hopeful is Philadelphia Eagle’s long snapper.
Thommy Ten and Amelie Van Tass of the mentalist duo The Clairvoyants, meanwhile, vowed to give the AGT judges and fans a “finale to remember.”
Meanwhile, theatrical juggler Viktor Kee said showcasing his talent at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood has been an amazing opportunity.
Finally, mime act Tape Face kept it short and simple even in sharing his pre-finale thoughts.
The Top 10 finalists will be performing for their place in the competition on Tuesday, Sep. 13. The last five contenders will battle out for the title of becoming “America’s Got Talent” season 11 winner.
“America’s Got Talent” airs in the US every Tuesday and Wednesday on NBC. It airs across Australia every Saturday on Fox8.
