'America's Got Talent' 2016 Update: Twin brothers’ superb musical talent wows Simon Cowell, Season 11 judges
Child prodigies Elias and Zion Phoenix rock AGT stage
Nine-year-old Elias and Zion Phoenix got “four big fat yeses” from “America’s Got Talent” Season 11 judges after impressing the crowd with their musical performance.
The twin brothers from Spring Hills, Florida looked as if they were merely toying with the keyboard while playing classical music with animated faces. “America’s Got Talent 2016” judge Simon Cowell said the twins have taken over the show despite performing for only 55 seconds.
The naughtiest of the twins, Elias, charmed the crowd for being such a natural comedienne. When Cowell asked the twins what they plan to do with the million-dollar prize of the “America’s Got Talent 2016,” Zion said it will be likely spent on their college education. However, Elias said he’ll spend it on “fast cars and luxury watches,” eliciting laughter among the judges and the audience.
The twins’ long blonde hair, which they said have never been cut since their birth, also amused the judges along with their facial expressions while performing. Before their performance on the “America’s Got Talent 2016” stage, the twin said they got used to being mistaken for girls.
“The worse thing about having long hair is when we got to Disney World, they said come along princesses,” Elias recounted, adding that he corrected them with a disappointed face, “well, we’re boys.”
Twin brothers are internet sensations, too
Prior to joining NBC's reality show “America’s Got Talent," Elias and Zion already earned massive following for their musical talents. The twins can also play the piano and guitar, apart from singing and dancing.
The twins have occasionally appeared on television for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and even in an Argentinian television show hosted by Susana Giménez. At age 7, the twins have already been featured by "Tampa Bay News" while Elias landed his first performance at the Carnagie Hall in New York.
