‘America’s Got Talent’ (AGT) Season 9 (2014) Finale Performance Episode Recap, Spoilers: 6 Finalists Perform Their Last Acts To Win Finals
"America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) has reached its finale. The show just aired its performance episode of Finals Week. The six finalists performed for the last time to win the votes of viewers and the four judges- Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Heidi Klum and Mel B. Last week "America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) featured its two-part Top 12 performance week. Based on judges' choice, viewers vote and Snapple save vote, the show unveiled its six finalists. These six finalists participating in finals week are: Quintavious Johnson, AcroArmy, Emily West, Miguel Dakota, Sons of Serendip and Mat Franco.
During the finals performance, each artist hit the stage twice to perform one reprise act and one new act.
Finals Performance, Round 1: Reprise Act
"America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) Finals kicked off with a performance by child singer Quintavious Johnson. He reprised his semifinals performance of "I'd Rather Go Blind." Mel B raved about his performance and Howie said the act "filled his heart." Howard said the young artist could win it all and Heidi called him a true entertainer.
Qunitavious Johnson was followed by the young magician Mat Franco. He reprised the magic trick wherein he used three cups and balls and added a little twist to it. The magician managed to leave all the four judges astonished. Howie said he is a "package" and asks America to vote for him. Howard said he is one of the best magicians. Heidi said everything about him is "magic."
Next up was Emily West. She reprised her quarterfinals performance and sang "Chandelier." Howard and Heidi stood up to appreciate her act. Howard loved her performance and said that no one would ever want to "fast-forward" her singing act. Heidi confessed that she heard the song for the first time and it seems she loved the act. Mel B said she liked the first performance of the song better. Howie felt the same but he feels she could still win it.
Next Up was the singer and guitarist Miguel Dakota. He reprised the performance of "Seven Nation Army" by White Stripes. He first performed the rendition of the song in semifinals. Heidi Klum really liked his performance and Mel B felt he was a little nervous during the performance. Howie said he has that thing that will make people vote for him. He compared him to a pop star. Howard said he performed better but he needs to put in more efforts to win the competition.
Next up on the stage to perform was boy band Sons of Serendip. They reprised the performance of "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane. Mel B convinced them that America would vote for them. Howie said they are the most musically talented artists on the "AGT" stage. However, he is unsure if America will vote for them. Howard said if they don't win the talent show, it is only because of their image and nothing else. Heidi said they are great.
Last to perform in the reprise round was the group of acrobats, AcroArmy. They reprised their semifinals act. Their act was so amazing that they managed to earn a standing ovation from all the four judges. Howie said they are incredible and if he could he would honor them with a gold medal. Howard said they deserve to win the $1 million prize. Heidi said that she thinks they are the true winners of "America's Got Talent" Season 9. Mel B said they have everything to win the show and are everything the talent show is about.
Finals Performance, Round 2: New Act
First up on stage to impress the viewers was Mat Franco. His act involved few people from audience and deck of cards. He invited Mel B and Howard to assist him in shuffling and separating the cards. They separate the cards except the three of clubs. The act left all the four judges amazed. Howard said that he deserved to win the ultimate prize and he would be happy to see a magician claim the top prize. Mel B said that he manages to surprise her each time. Heidi said he is a versatile artist. Howie said he deserves to win the prize.
Next up on the stage to perform their final act was Sons of Serendip. The band sang the rendition of "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence. Heidi said they were amazing and Mel B said they are passionate. Howie said he is grateful to witness their act and Howard said he liked their song arrangement.
They boy band was followed by Quintavious Johnson. He sang The Beatles' song "Let it Be." His performance earned him a standing ovation from the judges. Mel B said he is true star and his performance was moving. Howie said "America can't Let it Be." He asked America to vote for the contestants. Howard praised him and said Paul McCartney would like his rendition. Heidi said he has only blossomed and seeing him do so has been a joyful experience.
Miguel Dakota performed next and the singer performed Michael Jackson's classic hit "Billie Jean." Heidi liked his performance and said he has "come full circle." Mel b felt he took a risk by performing the acoustic version of the song. However, she wishes America votes for him. Howard said this was his greatest performance and Howie said he had charisma to attract the audience with.
AcroArmy took the stage next. They performed a daring routine to the tune of "Fall Out Boy's" song "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)." Mel B said they were on fire. Heidi said she is surprised and calls their performance jaw-dropping. Howie says this performance could help them win the trophy.
Last finalist to perform on "America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) Finals was Emily West. She sang "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack. Heidi said America is lucky to hear her sing. Mel Be said Emily was "off the chain." Howie said she was incredible and Howard said she got charisma and she is really talented.
"America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) will return with its Finale/ Finals Week on Sept. 17, 2014. During the final elimination round they will announce the winner of $1 million prize, headlining show in Las Vegas and the ultimate title of best entertainer and most talented act. Wednesday night will feature a star studded finale and will see the finalists perform alongside A-List celebs like Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Hudson, Lenny Kravitz, Pitbull, Train and The Rockettes. So don't forget to tune into NBC at 8:00 p.m.
