‘America’s Got Talent’ (AGT) Season 9 (2014) Recap, Spoilers: Top 12 Perform
NBC's reality talent show "America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) is nearing its finale. The show is only a week away from crowning the winner with the most coveted prize. But before that, the contestants must go through two more levels of competition: Top 12 and Finals. On Tuesday night, Sept. 9, 2014, the show featured its Top 12 performance episode. These artists performed to impress the four judges- Howie Mandel, Mel B, Howard Stern and Heidi Klum- and the viewers for votes. Last week "America's Got Talent" (AGT) featured its two-part semifinals and revealed top 12 performers. These 12 performers of the show are: Sons of Serendip, Quintavious Johnson, Mike Super, Miguel Dakota, Mat Franco, Mara Justine, Emily West, Emil and Dariel, David and Leeman, Christian Stoinev, Blue Journey and AcroArmy.
The show kicked off with the performance by Mara Justine. The singer sang "Perfect" by Pink and received good reviews by the judges. Mel B felt she was perfect tonight and Howard Stern said she is the "little girl with the big voice." Howie Mandel also said she was perfect and Heidi Klum called her performance "flawless."
The two magicians David and Leeman took the stage next. They performed a trick that revolved around lottery tickets and involved the judges. Their smart trick impressed the judges and Howie Mandel said they were amazing. Howard Stern also liked their performance and Heidi said that they are worthy of $1 million prize. Meanwhile, Mel B was left wondering how they performed the trick.
Sons of Serendip performed next and the band sang and played "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran. Howard said they "hit it perfectly tonight." Heidi called their performance majestic and Mel B felt they were amazing. Howie feels the band members are really talented.
Christian Stoinev, the extreme hand balancer, performed next. Scooby makes a brief appearance before Stoinev performs some extreme stunts displaying his strength. Heidi said he was amazing, but she would have loved it if Scooby was given more stage time. Howie felt he was a great performer tonight and Mel B called him "cute patootie." Howard felt he did well without Scooby.
The cellists duo Emil and Dariel performed a cover of "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith. Their performance also involved choir. Mel B felt they were amazing and Howie Mendal loved their performance and said he didn't miss Steven Tyler at all. Howard said they were phenomenal and Heidi felt they played safe tonight.
Emil and Dariel were followed by AcroArmy. They performed routine that impressed the judges and audience. Howie said they wowed tonight. Howard felt they are one of the best performers of the competition and Heidi said they were amazing. Mel B said they were off the chain.
Quintavious Johnson took over the "America's Got Talent" stage next and performed "I'm Going Down" by Mary J. Blige. Heidi compares the child singer to legendary musicians Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Mel B says he could be the winner of the competition and Howie requests viewers to vote for him and take him close to the victory.
Mike Super, the magician, performs a trick involving the show's host Nick Cannon and prediction that was made earlier in the week. The trick master managed to impress the judges with his act and Heidi loved it. Mel B felt he was very entertaining and Howie is wondering how he performed the act. Howard said he "killed it" tonight.
Blue Journey, the dance duo performed another act with some impressive visuals. Mel B and Howie were not too happy with their performance tonight. Meanwhile Howard felt they were great on stage and Heidi said they were unique in their approach.
Blue Journey was followed by a performance by singer Emily West. She sang "Knights in White Satin" by Moody Blues. She earned a standing ovation by the four judges, who think her performance was perfect.
Next up was Mat Franco, the close-up magician. The magician borrows Mel B's mobile phone again for the act. The act also involves some cards. The trick impresses the judges and Mel B feels he was genius with his performance. Heidi said he was the best among all the other magicians competing in the show. Howard said he is fabulous and Howie felt that he is amazing and viewers must vote for him.
Last to perform on "America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) Top 12 Performance Episode was singer and guitarist Miguel Dakota. He performed "Gimme Shelter" by Rolling Stones. Heidi was not too impressed by his performance but Mel B felt he performed like a rockstar. Howard missed Mick Jagger while he performed but Howie said he was the pop star of the night.
"America's Got Talent" (AGT) Season 9 (2014) will return with results/ elimination episode on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014. Also, the show will feature guest performers like Ed Sheeran, The Muppets and Jackie Evancho. Don't forget to tune into NBC.
