‘America’s Got Talent’ update: Season 12 audition opens
AGT Open Call audition dates, venues revealed
Those aspiring for the US$1 million (AU$1.3 million) grand prize on “America’s Got Talent” and the highly coveted career in the entertainment industry should start planning this early.
The NBC top-rated talent show has opened the online audition for “America’s Got Talent” season 12. Hopefuls can upload a video and send a link of their video to AGT or use their webcams to directly record and upload a video on the AGT website.
They can also audition in person by attending an Open Call. AGT Season 12 Open Call auditions will kick off in Chicago, Illinois, on Nov. 12. Another audition is also scheduled in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Jan. 19, 2017.
“We are open to any age and any talent — nothing is off limits,” the AGT website reads.
“We don’t care if you have an act you do professionally, or it’s something you have never done in public before in your life.
“We enjoy all talent, whether you are an amazing singer, or can do something really weird with your body. We want to be shocked and amazed by what you can do in 90 seconds!”
Earlier, 14 out of the top 36 acts on “America’s Got Talent 2016” have advanced to the semifinals round after getting enough votes during the past two AGT live shows. (Click here for the related story)

The next AGT live show in Hollywood will be aired on Aug. 23 to give way to NBC’s live broadcast of the 2016 Olympic Games from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
