‘America’s Got Talent’ winner Grace Vanderwaal starts studio recording
The 'next' Taylor Swift is recording her debut album

A month after winning “America’s Got Talent” with her original songs, Grace VanderWaal is starting her music career with a debut album she just began recording under Columbia Records.
The 12-year-old singer-songwriter shared snaps of her recording at the Germano Studios in New York City Monday.

The Ukulele-playing lyricist did not offer details about her debut album or the tracks she’s recording, but fans expect her to release her original songs.
“I am so excited about what this is sounding like. Simon Cowell, I can’t wait for you to hear it,” she said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, record producer Greg Wells praised VanderWaal, exclaiming that, “she’s killing it!”

VanderWaal’s golden-buzzer audition piece, “I Don’t Know My Name,” made an impression with Cowell, who predicted that she would become the next Taylor Swift.
She secured a spot in the semifinals with another original tune “Beautiful Thing,” while her “Light the Sky” cemented her spot on the Top 10. Her finale act “Clay,” propelled her to victory. Videos of her AGT performances went viral on YouTube.

VanderWaal is set to perform live at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Oct. 27 to 29 with fellow AGT contestants.
