Academy Award-nominated actress Amy Adams has given birth to a baby girl last Saturday. Aviana Olea Legallo is the first child for both Adams and her fiancé, actor David Legallo. Adams met Legallo in 2001 at an acting class and got engaged in July 2008.

The couple's exciting news was announced by Adams' representative, "The family is happy and doing well."

The 'Enchanted' actress first shared the news last December when she said that she was "excited" and looking forward to be a mum. By January, she told UsMagazine.com that while she had not settled on a name yet and she "(tends) to be more attracted to more traditional names." However, she also said that she had "to meet the person before I'm going to know the name."

Editors of Nameberry.com, Pamela Satran and Linda Rosenkrantz, wrote in their blog for Us that the chose name is anything but traditional. According to Satran and Rosenkrantz, Aviana could be an ultra-feminine version of Ava and has its starting syllable sounding very similar, and possibly related, to the Latin word for bird, avis.

Whereas Olea, also stemming from Latin, is the name of the genus of evergreen trees that includes the olive. The name has been used for Norwegian and Dutch girls' name and is also said to be an Old Hebrew word for night or moon.
