Amy Schumer is known for her confidence not only whilst performing on stage or on TV, but for flaunting her curves as well. For Vanity Fair’s May issue, the 34-year-old comedienne brings this fixation for nudity to a whole new level by showing her private part, completely covered in flames.

In one of the photos during the cover shoot, the “Trainwreck” star poses wearing only a “No Coffee, No Workee” shirt. The photo brings a “new meaning to ‘it’s lit,'” the magazine says.

“I begged Annie to photograph me with no underwear on in just a T-shirt,” Schumer told Vanity Fair. “I explained to her how important it was to me and she finally agreed. I felt powerful and beautiful. She understood once we shot it. Or maybe she ran to the bathroom to throw up. It was one of the most meaningful moments of my life.”

This is not the first time that Schumer posed nude for a magazine. For Entertainment Weekly’s April 10 cover, her stark naked body is featured merely covered by air plane-size alcohol bottles. The lead of the award-winning show “Inside Amy Schumer” also graced this year’s Pirelli calendar, completely in the nude.

Whilst fans of Schumer heaped praises for the actress and her apparent stance of being comfortable with her body, others blasted her again for her earlier claims about her size. Earlier in April, Schumer took to Instagram to express her disapproval for being included in Glamour magazine’s plus-size feature. The issue cited her as one of the magazine’s “Women Who Inspire Us,” which also named Melissa McCarthy, Adele and Ashley Graham.

She wrote, “I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous .”

The comedienne also brought the issue up when she was a guest on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” [watch below] “I love Glamour magazine, honestly. They’ve been so nice to me. They’ve done so many great things for women,” Schumer told Fallon. “But what I learned is people really don’t like being categorized by ‘plus-size.’ We don’t need these labels. We don’t need them. It should just say what size you are, right? Why?”

Social media users did not appreciate Schumer’s aversion to the plus-size label. Facebook user Barbara Becker-Tilley wrote, “While I appreciate her voice in the ‘true to yourself love women at any size’ mantra… the fact (that) she continues to sell herself as a size (6-8) is just wrong. If she is going to speak up and be proud… be honest!” Another, who goes by the name Gail Thomas commented, “She looks fabulous but to say you are a size 6 when clearly you aren’t makes it sound like being a 10 or 12 or whatever is something to be ashamed of. Maybe it is in Hollywood but not in the real world.” Alys Spillman, meanwhile, had this to say: “My opinion of her depth changed a lot after the Glamour incident – she didn’t, and a lot of people didn’t seem to understand that she was insulting people who do wear the plus-sized label. I thought she was more intelligent than that, but it seems I was wrong.”

Over on Twitter, the users also shared negative reactions to Schumer’s Glamour cover shoot.

Some of Schumer’s fans comment that her response to the plus-size label contradicts some of her interviews and material, wherein she makes fun of her body built. In one episode of “Inside Amy Schumer” titled “12 Angry Men” [watch below] she became the subject of a mock jury who assessed if she was hot enough on TV .
