Amy Winehouse checks out of rehab, ready for European summer tour
Sensational British song bird Amy Winehouse has left the Priory Clinic after the fallen star willingly surrendered herself due to alcohol addiction.
The new-found freedom has quite a short stretch. Despite being able to keep her hands on the bottle again, Winehouse is labeled as an outpatient undergoing continuous treatment. The Priory, a top treatment center for celebrities battling with all sorts of addiction, has been home to the singer for more than a couple of times during her seasonal heroin and crack addiction. In and out of trouble, Amy has been experimenting with different kinds of substances throughout her career and doctors had warned her to "sober up or die".
Winehouse is set to tour around Europe later this summer, and her rep relays a message to all of her fans. "She would like to send a huge thanks to all her fans for the messages of support she has received over the last week and can't wait to see them", her rep told the Daily Mail. Winehouse, who's famous for her sultry voice and jazzy vibe, had a phenomenal debut with her record Back to Black in 2008. The album sold millions of copies worldwide and led to five Grammy award wins, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for the aptly-titled Rehab. Despite an intoxicated persona, her singles dominated pop, r&b, and jazz charts for years. Winehouse is highly acknowledged by music legends for her unique and unparalleled vocal talent.
Meanwhile, Amy's former husband Blake Fielder Civil stood in court in for firearm and burglary charges. Winehouse's ex, along with an accomplice, raided a store and took jewelry and goods worth £4,000. Civil is set to face a "substantial" amount of jail time despite pleading guilty to the charges.
