Amy’s Baking Company co-owner Amy Bouzaglo said waitress Miranda was lying, and she has a video to prove it. The infamous restaurateur, whose appearance on “Kitchen Nightmares” with husband Samy Bouzaglo exacerbated their already suffering reputation, has claimed that their former employee was lying when she said Samy yelled at her for pocketing her tip.

A week after the Bouzaglos disastrous appearance on celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s reality show in May, Miranda, who was featured on the show as the waitress who served food to Ramsay, talked to Mathew Baldes of Mix 96.9 radio station for an interview.

In the interview, she recalled how Samy accused her of stealing the tip a customer discreetly gave her, and how Amy threatened to call the cops on her when she went back to collect her last pay check.

“So I was taking them [tips], of course, because legally that’s my money, and he [Samy] accused me of taking it, stealing his money, that’s what he said to me. He came to me like in my face, yelling at me, ‘Give me my money, give me my money!’

“And I just looked at him in anger and told him, ‘It’s not your money.’ I yelled at him and screamed at him,” she told the station. “It was five dollars. Five dollars and he made a huge scene about it like it’s the end of the world. So I threw it at him and I walked out. And that’s the end of it.”

But Amy came in defence of her husband, telling RadarOnline.com that their former employee was lying.

“He did not yell at her, he told her to put the money in the jar and leave. She never threw it at him and he never yelled at her. She is lying!”

She showed a surveillance video, which sees Samy arguing with Miranda about the pocketed tip. Because the footage lacks audio, it cannot be ascertained if their argument advanced to a shouting match, but with Samy’s animated hand gestures, it can be deduced that their chat wasn’t anywhere near friendly or even silent.

“I witnessed everything. I was standing right there listening to her,” Amy can be heard saying as she showed the video. “Here! She had it in her pocket. F****** b**** threw it right there. That’s all I need for the police! That’s it, she’s going to jail, this little b****!”

Employees at the Amy’s Baking Company were required to sign a contract itemising 20 provisions that included that employees should surrender their tips to the owners.

However, instead of siding with the Bouzaglos, commenters thought the video showed worse than how Miranda described it.

One commenter named Danielle noted that it looked like Samy was “in her face,” contrary to what Amy claimed. She added that the Fair Labor Standards Act in the U.S. prohibits an arrangement between the employer and the tipped employee whereby the tip becomes property of the employer.

This would mean that if Amy and Samy decided to sue Miranda for pocketing her tips, they would most likely lose in court because their contract was illegal in the first place.

“Actually, what happened is worse than what was described. Only it’s Amy that was the real witch in this. Why anyone would give this place any business is beyond me,” another commenter named ilovegossip wrote.

Amy also belittled the restaurant where Miranda currently works at.

“Cracker Barrel! Lmfao!!”
