Anderson Silva will return on the octagon ring for the main event of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 183. The former middleweight champion will face Nick Diaz on Jan. 31, 2015 in Las Vegas. In addition to intensifying the training and the final preparations for his comeback after the gruesome leg injury he suffered in December, Silva has said in a recent interview that he is only working toward one goal and that is to put up a great fight on his UFC return.

Speaking to Brazilian news outlet Veja, Silva said he is looking forward to his fight against Diaz. He is hopeful that he will be able to return well in 2015. "My main goal is to return well and make a great fight against Nick Diaz," Silva said. "I am very happy and confident in my recovery," he added.

At the age of 39, Silva revealed in the interview that he feels like a more accomplished athlete. According to him, his age poses a challenge for him to achieve his goal, but as long as he maintains his focus and follows a great workout regimen, he's confident he can do what he aspires.

Despite having said in another recent interview that he was already contemplating on retirement from the mixed martial arts, Silva said that he is also thinking of regaining his middleweight belt. Silva has successfully defended the UFC middleweight belt 10 times before losing it to Chris Weidman twice, in UFC 162 and UFC 168. Silva said that he will not stop until he claims his title back. "I want to at least try." In 2013, Silva signed a 10-fight deal with UFC.

Meanwhile, Brazilian Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) Athletic Commission Medical Director Dr. Marcio Tannure told Sherdog that Silva will be 100 percent ready on the day of his comeback fight with Diaz. Dr. Tannure said that Silva's leg injury does present a psychological problem, but he also said that the Brazilian MMA champion will be able to overcome his fear of getting hurt again by doing a training routine.

Silva is scheduled to face Diaz in the main event of UFC 183. Silva has a record of 33-6-0, while Diaz has 27-9-1.
