Anderson Silva Thinks He Would've Won the Fight against Chris Weidman
Anderson Silva thinks that if it weren't for the shocking and horrific leg injury he sustained during the main event of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 168 against Chris Weidman, he would've won the fight.
"I don't think Weidman should consider it a win," said Silva as reported by MMAFighting.com. "It was an accident and I'm pretty sure that I would have won the fight," he added. The Brazilian mixed martial artist also said Weidman's gesture to check his kick is not the work of a true champion. He claimed that it was only instinct and that Weidman won because of luck.
Weidman, on the other hand, felt confident that he won the fight over Silva. Weidman said that he didn't like that fact that Silva's leg got broken but he knew he handled the fight really well. "I was completely dominating the fight," said Silva as reported by MMAMania.com.
Silva has expressed his intention of fighting again in the octagon ring after he has fully recovered. However, his main focus right now is to get better one step at a time. His doctors has initially stated that it will take four to six months for him to completely recuperate and improve.
Silva said that he is open to the idea of fighting Weidman on a rematch. He said he can fight Weidman regardless if it is going to a title bout or not.
As for Weidman, he is a little hesitant to fight the Brazilian mixed martial arts legend. "It's a tough injury to come back from," said Weidman. "I honestly would feel bad to fight him again," he added.
Silva is definitely a legend and an exceptional fighter but he lost to Weidman twice. They faced each other twice already and Weidman won both fights. Weidman knocked Silva unconscious in the first fight.

Then, in the second fight Silva was not able to continue because of the broken leg. There isn't really a whole lot more to this situation.

While Silva recovers from the broken leg injury, Weidman will continue to fight. Vitor Belfort is considered as Weidman's top contender for the middleweight title.
