Anderson Silva's manager Ed Soares shares that same sentiments as the Brazilian mixed martial artist regarding the outcome of the main event fight of UFC 168. Silva has previously stated that he would've won the fight if not for the shocking injury he acquired. Soares is also certain that Chris Weidman didn't beat Silva, but he also believes that the American mixed martial artist's victory over Silva should earn some respect.

Soares spoke with The Hollywood MMA Show and he expressed his thoughts on Weidman's victory over Silva during the UFC 168.

"Hats off to Chris Weidman," said Soares. "He beat Anderson Silva twice," he said. Soares went on and said that due to the fact that Weidman won the fight, people should just acknowledge his victory and commend him.

"I wouldn't say he beat him but he won the fight," Soares added. Soares also said that Weidman has done things that no one has ever been able to do. "One of them is knock out Anderson Silva and the other thing is beat Anderson Silva twice," he said.

Soares explained that critics will always nag and say something bad about Weidman, but he said that what's important was that Weidman went out there to fight and eventually won. "Chris Weidman should be respected," he concluded.

What is your take on Weidman's victory? The 29-year-old UFC middleweight champion was the first fighter to successfully stab Silva's invincible defense. He has been receiving a lot of criticisms since he first met Silva during the UFC 162. Weidman was able to knock Silva out. Was it just pure luck? Did Silva get unlucky again after breaking his leg during their rematch at UFC 168? Even though Weidman didn't imagine his UFC 168 victory as it turned out, he still won. A victory is still a victory. How many times do you think Weidman has to beat Silva for people to get pleased and satisfied?

Do you think Weidman and Silva should face each other for the third time? Soares said that another rematch with Weidman is an option if Silva returns. He is absolutely certain that Silva can make a comeback. "I do think that Silva will make a full recovery," said Soares. He is sure the Silva will be back and said that he hasn't lost any belief in Silva. "I believe in him just as much now as I have always done, as I always have," he said.

It is great that Soares' stance on Silva's recovery is optimistic. Silva would need all the support he can get from the people close to him to aid him in journey towards full recovery.
