Ever since it was announced that he would take the lead of the new "Spider-Man" movie, fans have been dying to see Andrew Garfield's portray of the web-slinging superhero.

This week, photos of Garfield hanging from a wire were released. The on set photos were taken while filming scenes for "The Amazing Spider-Man" Thursday in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old actor executed a stunt where he avoids getting hit by a car and climbs a lamp post while also flashing a smile to the paparazzi every so often.

"There's an experiential component to 3D that's really fantastic, and we're experimenting with generating that point of view so you feel how Spider-Man feels when he's jumping over these buildings," director Marc Webb told TotalFilm.

"We made a conscious effort to do those effects practically and we had an incredible stunt team. We built this whole rig - hundreds of feet long - in Harlem, and we actually swung a man through traffic down the street. I thought that was really exciting, not to mention an incredible level of acrobatics," he added.

In addition, there has been speculation that Garfield may be having a bit of a real-life romance with his on-screen girlfriend, Emma Stone, who plays Peter Parker's love interest, Gwen Stacy.

The pair has been spotted holding hands and giggling as they strolled through the streets of New York. The actress wore a comfortable MaxMara camel coat with black tights and knee-high boots, while Garfield stepped out in red trousers and jacket for their outing.

Walking through Manhattan's East Village while linking arms, the A-list couple seemed perfect for each other.

The film is scheduled for release July next year.
